Pedestrian Accidents in Maryland
3% of the state of Maryland’s total car accidents reported every year to involve pedestrians. These accidents leave tens of thousands of innocent pedestrians with injuries every year in our state. In many instances, pedestrians are left with broken and severed bones, spinal cord injuries, and even internal injuries.
Suffering serious injuries due to a pedestrian crash can have both immediate and long-term consequences. Many people have to go to area hospitals immediately after their crashes. In most instances, pedestrians have to go through therapy and other forms of long-term care for several weeks or even months after their crashes.
Although there are many laws in our states to protect pedestrians, so many of them are injured as a result of negligent drivers. There are often instances where drivers fail to yield the right of way to others, they are distracted, or engaging in other negligent actions while operating the vehicles.
When pedestrians are hurt in pedestrian wrecks due to the actions of others, it is important that they reach out to a pedestrian accident lawyer in Kensington as soon as possible. When victims are harmed as a result of negligence, they are able to take legal actions against the drivers at fault to recover compensation that they can use for their medical expenses and more.
