Car Accidents in Maryland
Every year more than 120,000 people are injured in motor vehicle accidents across the state of Maryland. These accidents are often caused by some form of negligence. Some of the leading causes of collisions in our state include:
Speeding: Even though every road in our state has a posted speed limit, we continue to see people travel well above it. When people drive at a high rate of speed, they often have more difficulties controlling their vehicles in order to stop in time to avoid a collision.
Impairment: Driving while drunk is extremely illegal and not only in Maryland but across the entire United States. Regrettably, we continued to see thousands of people injured as a result of drivers who enter the road while under the influence of alcohol.
Disregarding Traffic Control Devices: Even though intersections require people to yield the right of way to others, whether they have a red light or a stop sign, we continue to see people disregard traffic control devices at intersections. This is one of the leading causes of broadside collisions in our state.
If you have been hurt in a crash as a result of any of these or other acts of negligence, you may be entitled to financial compensation. Working with a car accident lawyer in Silver Spring will provide you with the best opportunity to get justice by pursuing legal action.
