Pedestrian Accidents in Maryland
A pedestrian who is involved in a motor vehicle accident is at a significant disadvantage. People inside vehicles are afforded steel cages that keep them safe during accidents. When people are traveling outside of vehicles, they do not have anything to protect them. As you can imagine, pedestrians who are involved in motor vehicle accidents often sustain severe injuries that demand immediate medical attention.
Statistics show that one person dies every 88 minutes in a pedestrian accident somewhere in our country. These incidents add up to more than 6,700 people dying every year as a result of auto-pedestrian wrecks. Tens of thousands more are left with debilitating injuries that impact their health and wellbeing indefinitely.
People hurt in pedestrian crashes often require emergency medical care. Many victims require some type of long-term care, whether it be surgery, medication, or therapy. Thousands of victims never fully recover from their injuries and are left permanently disabled. If you have been hurt in a pedestrian crash, a Rockville pedestrian accident lawyer can help you get the justice you deserve. Victims who are harmed in crashes due to the negligent actions of motorists can obtain compensation for medical expenses, lost earning capacity, and a variety of other costs they face as they recover and move forward.
