Truck Accidents in Maryland

Olney, MD – Truck Crash on Olney Laytonsville Rd near Muncaster Rd Ends in InjuriesEach year, more than 110,000 accidents take place in the state of Maryland. Many truck accidents are caused by driver error. In fact, nearly four out of every five crashes involve some form of negligence. We see many accidents caused by drivers who:

  • Speed
  • Run red lights
  • Drive while drowsy
  • Drive while distracted
  • Fail to yield the right of way

Although many accidents result in minor injuries for victims involved, tens of thousands of people are left with serious injuries that demand emergency medical care. When accidents involve semi-trucks, victims are more likely to suffer severe and life-altering injuries. The size and weight of these damages increase the likelihood that they will cause severe damage to everything they come into contact with.

Victims who are involved in semi-truck accidents often suffer injuries that could involve emergency medical care. Some of the most common serious injuries from truck accidents include:

  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Broken bones
  • Back injuries
  • Neck and soft tissue injuries

Someone injured in a truck accident often spends weeks or even months out of work to recover and go through therapy. When victims are harmed in accidents, due to the negligence of others, they often have legal options available. Speaking to a truck accident lawyer in Olney can help you learn what you can do to recover.
