Upper Marlboro, MD – Injuries Reported in Accident on I-495 near MD-215
Upper Marlboro, MD (June 14, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident occurred on Sunday morning in the Upper Marlboro area that injured at least one person. At around 8:35 a.m., on June 12, the Maryland State Police, firefighters, and medical personnel were all dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on the Interstate 495 Beltway.
Reports provided by the police show that a collision between vehicles blocked the inner loop of the Interstate 495 Beltway in the area near Maryland State Route 214. The crash caused significant delays in the area as the police and firefighters worked to clear several vehicles from the scene. At least one vehicle was overturned as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rendered aid to victims on-site. Those in need of further care were transported to area hospitals.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
