District Heights, MD – Man Killed in Dirt Bike Crash on Pennsylvania Ave near Silver Hill Rd
District Heights, MD (March 30, 2022) – A fatal collision involving a young man from Capitol Heights was reported on Friday evening in the District Heights area. At 6:20 p.m., on March 25, the Prince George's County Police Department arrived on-site at a crash that occurred in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Silver Hill Road.
Investigations performed by the PGCPD show that an 18-year-old man from Capitol Heights was riding a dirt bike west on Silver Hill Road. An SUV was traveling south on Pennsylvania Avenue at the same time.
As both vehicles approached the intersection, they collided.
Both drivers were hurt in the crash. The SUV’s operator was provided care at the scene. The dirt bike driver was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. On March 26, the man passed away from his injuries.
The incident is under investigation by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.
