Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Maryland

Pedestrian fatalities account for more than 23% of all fatal crashes in the state of Maryland every single year. One out of every four people who are killed in crashes in our state is a pedestrian. These victims are extremely vulnerable during crashes. They have no protection and are often struck by vehicles that are large, speeding, or engaging in reckless acts.

Driving error continues to be the leading cause of fatal collisions in our state. Many innocent parties suffer fatal injuries in auto wrecks due to speeding drivers, distracted motorists, and people who are simply not operating their vehicles in a safe manner.

The consequences of fatal pedestrian accidents are devastating. Families are often unprepared to cover tens of thousands of dollars in funeral expenses.

There are also many instances where families lose a source of income as a result of a fatal accident. Dealing with the mental and financial impacts of losing a loved one can be severely challenging. When pedestrians lose their lives in crashes, their families may have legal routes that they are able to take to get justice.
