Hillandale, MD – Pedestrian Dies from Injuries in Crash on New Hampshire Ave by Elton Rd
Hillandale, MD (January 18, 2022) – At 5:38 p.m., on January 17, the Montgomery County Police were called to the Hillandale neighborhood located in Silver Spring.
Reports show that a 70-year-old man from Adelphi, Maryland was walking near New Hampshire Avenue and Elton Road. For reasons unknown, a gray 2014 Toyota Camry passed through the area and ran the man over as he attempted to cross the southbound side of the roadway in an east-to-west manner.
The Toyota’s driver pulled over immediately and remained at the scene until the police arrived.
The Montgomery County Fire Rescue attempted lifesaving measures on the badly injured pedestrian. Despite these efforts, the man died while still at the scene.
The MCPD’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting investigations at this time.
