Silver Spring, MD – Bus Crash at Fairland Rd & Fairridge Dr Takes One Life
Silver Spring, MD (December 23, 2021) – One woman has lost her life as a result of a two-vehicle collision in Montgomery County on Sunday evening. On December 19, the Montgomery County Police Department was notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of an accident on Fairland Road.
Reports from MCPD indicate that a collision involving a silver 1987 Toyota Camry station wagon and a 2013 New Flyer WMATA Passenger Bus occurred on Fairland Road at the intersection of Fairridge Drive.
The incident left both vehicles with significant damage and blocked the roadway. Police and firefighters in Silver Spring responded to the scene of the accident and immediately secured the area.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, the driver of the Toyota, a 63-year-old female, was declared deceased at the scene.
The bus operator was not injured in the accident.
Investigations surrounding the collision are underway by the police in Silver Spring.
